Space NK research

I Went into Space NK (Notts) today and asked the staff a few questions.

I spoke to a sales assistant, Jess and asked her how well the brand sells and she said it sells well but their best selling brand is Laura Mercier so its not their leading brand.

She also said that Shu Uemura has been in Space NK in Nottingham for 1 1/2 years but about a month ago the counter was downsized as they took off the foundation so its clear that it doesnt sell as well as brands such as NARS and Laura Mercier as they display a complete range of products and take up more space in the store. This I thought was interesting cos it does indicate that the brand needs to drive their awareness.

When I asked her about the consumer she said that it varies, the younger consumer typically buys the eyelashes (apparently these sell really really well!) and the brighter shades of lip gloss and eyeshadows, whereas, the older woman buys the cleansing oils which she also said sell well.
